My Project

I am hoping to purchase books to help our struggling readers throughout our school! Some students work extremely hard to crack the reading code. Many of my students have dyslexic tendencies and are 1-2 years below grade level. They work very hard and are eager to do well. My students are improving with extra support, resources, and a focus on their many strengths! Being part of their journey is an honor!

The donation to this project will provide lower-level decodable books designed with older readers in mind.

These books do not look too young (which can be incredibly deflating). They contain relatable, engaging, and meaningful stories. They will reinforce a systematic and structured phonics approach that is critical for children with dyslexia. Children need to practice sound patterns in books that they can control. These books will help!

Students will use these books in small groups, 1-on-1, and during their independent reading time. The books are interesting, accessible, and decodable! They will reinforce skills while increasing confidence and supporting the joy and love of reading!
