This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As we enter our Farm to Table unit, I would like to provide my students with materials to give them hands-on learning experiences.

To allow my students to explore what it is like to raise animals and crops for harvest, I would like to open up a farm-themed sensory table.

To do this, I am requesting some farm animals and gardening tools.

I would also like to turn my dramatic play center into a farm stand. We can do this with the additional play food and produce I have requested.

These experiences will allow my students to actually take on the role of the farmers like we are studying, which will be much more meaningful to their learning than just talking about it. Especially with a group of over 1/2 English language learners, it is important to be fully immersed in the vocabulary to most effectively learn it.
