My Project

Being in an environment where students feel comfortable and cohesive can make the learning experience much more enjoyable. Our elementary school always chooses a theme to help us connect as a building, and bring us together as a group. Many of our students don't have the luxury of a loving, secure home life. My goal is to make our classroom feel as inviting and filled with a caring atmosphere as possible.

Stepping into our classroom should feel like a warm hug.

By covering our walls with positive messages and visual aides, such as reading posters, class job labels, birthday reminders, daily schedule, and bulletin boards that tie in our theme, I hope to create an air of belonging not only to our classroom, but also to our school.

The rest of the supplies such as a tape dispenser, staples, glue sticks, file folders, and white board erasers make our day to day tasks more easily accomplished. Having an analog clock will aid in teaching students to tell time, and a lesson planner will give me the ability to be organized and keep track of what we are doing on a daily basis. Finally, adequate headphones are a must to allow students to block out noise and listen to content without distraction, giving them the best opportunity to learn.
