Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our ICT students will be using these class sets of culturally responsive fantasy stories to become fully immersed and connect with the fantasy genre. Students will read these stories as mentor texts to further their understanding of fantasy writing. Throughout the unit, students will be able to reference these texts during reading and writing lessons to become fantasy experts.
It's difficult to find fantasy texts that have characters that they can relate to and connect with the experiences they go through.
Please help us enrich our students love of literature! We want to encourage our students to write about characters that look and act like them in a fantastical way, while allowing our students to foster a love for reading.
