Fantastic Readers Need Flexible Seating

Help me give my students a more flexible seating arrangement through a set of balance ball seats and 2 comfy floor seats with lap desks!

My Students

I teach amazing third graders with whom I've had the privilege of transitioning from second grade! My class is full of motivated learners who always strive to do their best and be at one hundred percent all the time. They focus on learning how to be successful in all aspects of life, not just academics.

Most of my students come from low-income backgrounds and our school is in a high-poverty area.

My students are so much more than their circumstances, but don't always have the supplies needed for successful learning! I am grateful to teach where I do and want to provide them all the opportunities I can!

My Project

I have a class who loves to read! One of our focuses this year is to increase student independent reading time. We are teaching students to build stamina through having time set aside for independent reading. This also allows ​students to move around the room to find a place where they can work comfortably.

By having this project funded, my students would have more choices of where to sit and learn.

It would not just impact their independent reading time, but also their technology time and time in learning stations. Having flexible seating would make these times more enjoyable for my students, and would give them more of a choice of where and how they want to learn!
