My fantastic first graders are really excited about writing. I would love to be able to provide them with a high-quality, age-appropriate composition book.
The majority of students at our school are on free or reduced lunch. That means their families cannot afford little extras like nice composition books and neither can the school district given our current state of financial turmoil.
My team of first grade teachers (6 of us this year!) is absolutely fabulous!! We enjoy team teaching which allows us to know all first graders. I am requesting composition books for all first grade classes because I will teach all of them at some point this year. I have asked for additional books because we have a fluid community of students which include Coast Guard families and homeless families.
