This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
As an author, can you imagine the pride you would feel of seeing your published work come to life in color? Imagine a 2nd grader beaming with pride at seeing their writing displayed in color around the school building. We need a color printer, scanner, and copier to make these smiles happen!
My students are a curious, fun, and motivated group of second graders.
Our class is an integrated co-teaching classroom (aka inclusion or CTT), so we have students with special learning needs as well as a high percentage (over 80%) of English Language Learners. They love creating: writing pieces with great illustrations, fun and colorful math projects, beautiful science and social studies works too! Our school is located in a low-income, high-need community. One hundred percent of our students receive free lunch. The truth is, we just can't afford to buy supplies, especially with so many recent devastating cuts to educational funding.
My Project
An all-in-one color printer, scanner, and copier will help my students publish their writing in an exciting and meaningful way. Having this resource in the room will encourage my students to write in all the academic areas! They will LOVE writing and creating their graphic novels, stories and projects since they'll be able to see their work displayed in such a visually appealing way!
The all-in-one printer is important for the 21st century classroom because it allows students to take pride in their writing and classwork.
Having them keep motivated in their learning is key to creating world citizens. Any donation is greatly appreciated!
