This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students need exposure to a diverse collection of music. I need to get my students singing and help them build their language skills. My students need an outlet to express themselves freely. They need to sing, move, and dance.

My students are from diverse backgrounds all living in the inner-city community.

Most of my students are English Language Learners. They come from low socioeconomic backgrounds. Most qualify for the school's free lunch program. They are a lively bunch that need to build their language skills. They need exposure to the arts, such as music and dance.

My Project

The iPod dock we are hoping to receive will allow us to play music to help build coordination, muscle control, balance, and more. They will be exposed to a variety of dance moves and music. My students will be able to express themselves through movement and song.

With this needed iPod dock, my students will be able to listen to music and learn to express themselves through song, music, and movement.

They will build their confidence and feel more sure of themselves as they learn to move to the beat and keep the rhythm of a favorite song. They will learn to work cooperatively by dancing with a partner or in a group. Please help these happy feet find a beat.
