My students need a dependable fan to stay nice and cool in the classroom.

My Students
My second graders are a great group of students! My classroom is made up of thirty eager first graders. I also have a wide range of reading and math abilities in my classroom. My reading levels range from pre-kindergarten to fourth grade. It's important that I read with these children everyday to get them on grade level by the end of the year. Many of my students are very low readers, speak English as a second language and getting free or reduced price lunch. All my students will do anything for anybody, especially the ESL students. We are always bringing the best out of everyone. Despite my students' backgrounds, they all have one thing in common, and that is their love of learning and helping others.
My Project
When the temperature is close to one hundred degrees, like it was in the past couple years, we already have shorter lessons and more water breaks, but we are also not feeling well. Many of the students are breaking out in fevers, sweating, as well as falling asleep! We need to keep our classrooms cool. The last couple years during the summer days, when it reaches over ninety degrees, the school district called for early dismissal. This fan will allow for the air direction so that all of the students will benefit from the increased airflow. This project will benefit my students and other first grade classrooms by making the classroom and environment more comfortable. This will create a better learning environment and less water breaks. Your love and support will extend the students’ learning beyond the cooler months and into the hottest days of summer. Instead of fanning themselves and counting the hours until dismissal, or counting the half days, they will be able to grow and learn. These first graders will grow as readers, writers, and mathematicians. Thank you for taking the time to read our project.
