My Students

My students are the hope and dream of their community. They come from a close-knit small town. We are a school where families are wholly invested in education and are our partners in educating the whole child. The students are serious about their learning, but have difficulties in their reading and writing. Yet, they show their hunger for more opportunities of differentiated learning.

My students attend the only Elementary School available in their neighborhood.

With nearly all students coming from low‑income households, they rarely have the opportunity for their parents to effectively assist them in their learning and provide feedback of their progress. Nonetheless, they have big dreams! They dream of going beyond what they can see, helping their families, and reaching their full potential. With your help, we can acquire the tools and skills to assist my students to reach those goals.

My students need access to technology that will allow them to showcase their knowledge at home and experience family learning that will enable them to connect what is learned in the classroom to their daily lives, and contribute to a learning society.

My Project

The Power My Learning Program will allow for learning to occur outside of the classroom, and get more families involved in their child's learning. This program will be effective in the student showing mastery of subject matter and will also allow for the parents/families to help their child better understand the content as well as provide feedback to the teacher on how well their child fared on the matter.

Students are most successful when supported by a triangle of strong learning relationships between students, teachers, and families.

This program will transform the learning relationships between students, families, and teachers. It leverages family engagement to drive student mastery and social-emotional learning.
