My Students
My students are full of energy, excited to learn, and naturally inquisitive. They want to be engaged in the lessons, instead of being passive learners.
With STEAM/STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) and Problem/Project-Based Learning (PBL) students are engaged and solving both real-life and fictional problems.
Students want to know what they do will matter, and they are our future problem solvers. In my classroom you will see my students taking risks, and learning from both what works and what doesn't work. Mistakes are not only welcome, they are expected, and we all learn from them!
My school has one thousand diverse students coming from different socioeconomic statuses, including many students living below poverty.
My Project
Our school will be hosting a Family Fun Dodgeball Night. The students will create teams of five to play in a double elimination dodgeball tournament. Not only are parents encouraged to attend the tournament, but the overall winning team will then play a parent team.
With our students ongoing love of music, a music synthesizer would allow students to create their music during their club time and showcase their beats and music to play during our Family Fun Dodgeball Tournament enhancing the overall experience.
By hosting family fun nights, teachers, students, and parents are able to interact while having fun and help build strong partnerships to nuture the school to home relationships.
More than half of students from low‑income households
