Family Game Night Part 2

My students need card stock, crayons, markets and counters to make and play games.

My Students

Our kindergarten through sixth grade students attend an inner city charter school. The school is small and feels like a family. We are going through many changes and working hard to meet our goals.

Overall, the students are kind, willing to learn, and open to change.

They want to soak up knowledge and new experiences. By the time they walk into school, many of them have overcome the struggles of poverty, broken homes, and homelessness. Our charter school strives to meet all needs of our learners. We are a small school with big futures.

My Project

We are gathering materials for an all-school Title 1 night. We are planning to make a take-away craft project to reinforce literacy skills. They will use the scissors to cut out game parts, they will use the spinners to make game parts, Zip-loc bags to carry their games in, and the rest of the materials are for the various parts of the games.

Families will have lot of choice in what type of game they will make, how it will address the skills that their individual students need to work on, and the games will also address both Math and Reading needs.
