Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

These students are so resilient! This class of 5th graders have spent the most time at home during the pandemic to date. They genuinely enjoy each other’s company and socializing. In the classroom, I have a limited amount of board games for students to play, but they are playing them often in the inclimate weather schedule. Our class idea is to gather more board games like Connect 4, Perfection, Clue, and Sorry and invite the parents in! We want to host family game night and teach families how to play these games together in their household, but that is just the beginning! The students want to have family field day and really intertwine our sense of community in their last year of elementary school. We would like a tug of war rope, magnetic building kid, model magic and more to utilize in our room and with our families to foster community and togetherness.
