My Students
Half of my students are second English learners (Spanish and Armenian), but they are all eager to learn and explore all opportunities available to them. They are mostly from this community, but I have some who are experiencing their first year in an American school and I feel honored to be their teacher.
The students enjoy the privilege being part Computer Science Engineer Design Magnet using as much technology as possible to complete their work for about every class especially mathematics.
Students discover new things on the computer everyday and I hope they continue to be inspired all year. We want all students to have full access to educational computer programs at school and at home!
My Project
With so much technology taking over the evenings of families spending time together. I wanted to get some games not only for class activities but to start a tradition of family math game night with my sixth grade students and their families.
Family fun with math game night will be an opportunity for students to show off their skills in an interactive and entertaining way!
It will be a great place for families to come with their students and learn what their students are learning in class. I want to build a comfortable, knowledgeable, and engaging community amongst my students.
Hopefully it could be an annual if not bi- or tri- annual event.
Parents can come and interact with their students and other families for an hour and half to two hours after school with math, games, smiles, and learning. I'm excited to host this event and with these materials, I will be successful to provide a variety of centers during family fun with math game night!
