Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The 20 three- and four-year-olds in our classroom love coming to school! Some of the preschoolers walk into the building with the confidence of a superhero while others are a little hesitant saying goodbye to their grown-ups for the day. One way to show students that their families and school are on the same team is to provide opportunities for working parents to attend activities and interact with their students at school.

I want to frontload the upcoming school year with fun family engagement activities, and your donation to this project will help provide materials for parents to interact with their preschoolers in the classroom.

Students' grown-ups can come to a meeting about school readiness and receive materials to help their preschoolers refine fine motor skills at home. These materials also would allow families come build a birdhouse with their students during our unit on trees, come help celebrate the end of our farm unit with a silly rodeo with gross motor activities, and come enjoy some gingerbread man retelling activities at the end of our unit about that pesky cookie.

Our families come from a variety of socio-economic and cultural backgrounds, and it is super heartwarming to watch them mingle and make those connections with each other, with their children in the school setting, and with their school. Making learning fun and comfortable for all is our goal, and I thank you in advance for considering a donation to this project.
