Falling in Love With Reading, One Monster at a Time!
Help me give my students a class set of the book Monster. They loved the excerpt and want to do a novel study, but we don't have the actual books. Help my students fall in love with reading!

it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
What I love most about my students is their resilience, curiosity, and determination. Many of them come from underserved communities where resources are limited, but their desire to learn and grow is undeniable. They face challenges every day, yet they continue to show up with enthusiasm, eager to engage with the material I provide.
The books I am requesting, Monster by Walter Dean Myers, addresses themes of identity, justice, and societal perception—topics that resonate deeply with my students.
This novel will make a significant difference in their learning. By reading this powerful story, they will not only improve their reading comprehension and critical thinking skills but also develop empathy as they engage with a character who grapples with the same questions they often face in their own lives.
My goal for this project is to provide my students with literature that reflects their experiences, challenges their perspectives, and helps them develop a deeper understanding of themselves and the world around them. These books will foster meaningful classroom discussions about character development, point of view, and societal expectations. Most importantly, they will help my students see that their voices and stories matter. With your support, this project can give my students the tools to grow both academically and personally.
