This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Do you remember opening the book that made you fall in love with reading? I want my students to fall in love with reading and fall in love with learning.
All my students are English Language Leaners with varying levels of English proficiency.
My students are eager to learn, but have very few literature resources in their native language. My students are eager readers and are ready to add some new and more popular titles to our literature circles and our classroom library.
My Project
My students are eager readers with limited reading materials in their native language. We are going to add newer titles to our classroom library for independent reading. We would be thrilled to have a set of Dictionaries in Spanish to help us with unfamiliar words we come across while reading our new books.
We will also use our new books for literature circle and book talks. My students will be learning to make predictions, to summarize, to make connections, make inferences, to analyze characters and their actions, and much much more with these books.
The donation of these books will improve my classroom immensely.
My students will have access to text that they can understand and resources that they can use to build their comprehension skills.
