Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
These students are from a low-income area and don't get as many opportunities as other children their age. I believe that incorporating new unique opportunities into the physical education program would enhance their skills; not only physically but behaviorally and socially as well. My students are seeking to be encouraged and enjoy showing off the new things they have learned. That is why I would like to introduce them to a variety of different activities that will meet all skill levels and interests.
My Project
Since the start of the school year is autumn, the students will be "Falling into Physical Fitness". My classes asked for materials that would help to strengthen their upper body, assist their balance, and nutrition cards that provide information.
These materials will be used to assist in the development, strengthening, and nutritional resources needed to educate my classes on a healthy lifestyle.
This will also help my classes in grades 4-5 during their Fitnessgram testing. By using the Physical Best curriculum my classes will work on goals aimed towards their state test. It is also important that they understand the link between nutrition and exercises.
