Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The Pete the Cat beginning reader sets will inspire my students to fall in love with books and reading. Many of my kindergarteners are English language learners with Spanish as their first language, and building confidence in reading English is a key part of their academic journey. My students already adore Pete the Cat, and his fun, playful adventures captivate their imaginations. The simple sentences and colorful illustrations in these books make reading exciting and accessible while supporting their language development.

My goal is to gift each student their own set of Pete the Cat books to take home, encouraging them to explore stories regularly and fostering a love for reading beyond the classroom.

Having their own books creates a sense of ownership, motivating them to practice their English skills in a stress-free way.

This project will give them the tools and encouragement to grow as readers at school and at home.
