This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I would love to give my students the opportunity to love chapter books and fall in love with reading. Our current curriculum is only snippets of a few chapter books. With these books, my students can read along with me; work in small groups and reread at home. We need to build their stamina as well as their excitement for handheld books.

I want my students to be excited about reading as well as have the opportunity to use skills such as visualization and inferring.

I want them to make text to self and text to text connections.
