Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My first graders are eager students who come to school each day with a smile. They love to read, do arts and crafts and take in new knowledge. Fall is soon springing up on us and I’d like to highlight some celebrations from the season. I’d like to have books about pumpkins and Halloween to tie in lessons and activities to science, literacy and art. By having books, decorations and crafts on pumpkins I will be able to do a variety of lessons and activities teaching my students about the pumpkin life cycle and the Fall season. I’d also like to teach my students about Dia De Los Muertos. They are familiar with the Disney movie Coco, but I’d like to teach them about the history of the celebration. By having books, crafts and games about the celebration I could offer my students multiple learning opportunities about the celebration. I’d like to thank you in advance for your support in helping these resources reach my students for some fantastic learning experiences!
