My Students
My students are some of the most amazing kids out there. Our school is in the middle of military housing.
All of my students are military dependents.
They spend their days seeing a parent off to work in that military uniform knowing they are fighting for our country. Many of them see that parent off knowing they won't see them for 6 to 9 months and in some cases even up to a year.
They don't complain. This is their life. And it is an important one. I work every day with some of the most amazing children who come to class each and every day eager to learn and share their experiences with me.
My Project
My students love stories! They love them so much, I hear them talking about them on the playground. Imagine how their conversation would be enriched by using these stem kits. These kits would be the perfect addition to our guided reading centers.
Children have to plan, create and test solutions.
Not only will they talk about the story after this experience, they will also talk about engineering problems and solutions.
These kits will be an important part of our guided reading centers. The students will be working on their independent skills while strengthening their planning and creating skills working with these kits.
