My students need dry erase boards to communicate responses and with a document camera, it can be used to actively engage students in the learning process.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
"To teach is to learn twice," Joseph Joubert said, and for my students, being able to write it, see it and speak it is the key to their success. I hope to have more student lead conversations in my class, to ensure a successful learning environment.
Our school is brand new this year and limited on our resources.
We are a Title I, where we have a population of 31% white, 31% Hispanic and 31% African American. Our student population has a majority of 'at-risk' students that are not on grade level and our goal is to raise the students' scores 200%. Our philosophy is that "Failure is not an option." We are a Project Based Learning school that believes in relating topics to our students' interest and their communities.
My Project
The resources I am asking for is to help assist with student lead instruction. The document camera would allow students to bring their work up to show how they solved a problem while saving time and expo markers. I go through about 5 a week having students writing their problems on the board. The white boards would also be used for our review games. This would allow everyone a chance to participate.
These donations would give my students a chance to communicate and teach each other.
My students mean the world to me and I would do anything to help them to be successful! As stated before our school is brand new and we are really limited on our resources.
