My Project
I recently had a student express that she would love to connect with her learning with more art based projects. This struck me. It sparked a flame of creativity in my lesson planning. I have now been looking into many lesson enrichment ideas on TPT to enhance their current learnings by adding art into reading, writing, and even math lessons; beyond just the seasonal bulletin board obligation but actual deepening of what we are learning. There are countless ideas for deepening student connections and reflections for literature and even strengthing understanding math concepts. This is exciting!
All students should feel like they can demonstrate their learnings in an authentic way.
With the art items in this project, the students and I can embark on more engaging and expressive learning. I feel this idea will help build community within the classroom and enhamce natural problem solving skills between students. We have a strong team vibe within the classroom and this will help compliment and reward how well they work together.
The authenticity behind one student's request to make her learning resonate with her better, very well may have a lasting impact on the way we do learning as a team. There is a lot of work and planning ahead to make this a reality. The items in this project will alleviate some of that burden and bring the art in sooner.
