it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I love how curious, creative, and observant my students are. They notice the changes happening all around them—from wildlife disappearing to forests being cleared—and they have so much to say about it. This project invites my 4th and 5th grade students to express their thoughts through Frida Kahlo-inspired self-portraits, combining science and art to reflect on identity and environment. With the help of canvases and quality art materials, students will explore how our natural Florida landscape is being transformed and how those changes impact both their sense of place and who they are becoming.
