My Students

Our students can benefit from flexible seating academically, social/emotionally and behaviorally. Some students improve their ability to focus and remain on task when they are able to move while they listen and complete work. Being able to tap your foot, bob up and down, sway back and forth or wiggle in a classroom appropriate fashion can enable some students to increase their memory and information processing skills. Equipping students with flexible seating options is an easy classroom accomodation for maximizing student learning.

My Project

These seating options will provide many different students with flexible options for seating in the classroom. These chairs, stools, balance balls and cushions will be a resource for students that can benefit from being able to move while they learn. The movement provided by these seating options will increase the focus and on-task behaviors of students. Allowing for appropriate forms of movement enables students to sway to and fro, wiggle back and forth, bounce up and down, and jiggle and tap their feet which in turn, increases their ability to listen to instruction, focus on class work and complete assignments to the best of their abilities.
