Eyewitness World Tour for Kippstars!

My students need 25 Eyewitness books that will bring them on a world tour to places such as Greece, Italy, and China so that they can learn the history of these places!

My Students

For our students to be successful in this increasingly "flat" world, I need to take them on a world tour that will expose them to the people and countries that they will need to navigate in the future. With these amazing eyewitness books, we can tour the world and prepare for a great future!

We all know that reading is the key to unlocking a great future.

At KIPP schools, we strongly believe that reading is our number one priority and we don't just talk the talk. With your help, we will be able to walk the walk even more than we already do. With the kind of library I'm trying to build, we will be able to create a nonfiction program that rivals the fiction programs at most schools. Our students deserve the best of everything as they climb the mountain to college. hide»

My Project

So often, students don't appreciate world history because they don't see what it has to do with them. This year, I really want to show my students that the future they envision for themselves increasingly involves the rest of the world. Our students need to know about, and understand the great cultures that have shaped world history so that they will be able to analyze and solve the problems we are facing in the future. The Eyewitness books series will teach them the history of Europe and Asia that they will need to effectively problem solve with the people of those countries. And the great thing with these books? They will love every minute of it and develop the great habits of life-long learners!

By donating to my classroom, you can have a direct impact on the lives of hundreds of students.

You will see a class where the book reports are not endured, but embraced. You will see students encouraging their peers to "read faster", so that they can get the book that is checked out. There is no more valuable resource in a language arts class than great books!
