My students are my second set of kids! My students are first graders that come from an area of very high economic need in Irvington. They are curious, thoughtful, and eager learners. This is the period of time when they are learning to love school: a love that will hopefully follow them for years to come. Their passion to keep learning despite the odds inspires me.
Being given the tools to succeed in the virtual learning environment will make a huge difference!
My Project
With virtual learning, it can be very hard for students to see the manipulatives we use for math, photos used for science, and the books we use for reading lessons. The document camera will help make everything more clear to the students, many of whom are visual learners. The camera will continue to be a great resource once we go back to in-person learning, allowing images to be projected larger and more clearly so that even those in the back of the classroom can be actively engaged in every lesson!
