Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My scholars come from very diverse backgrounds; some of them come with social emotional issues. About 96% of the students at my campus receive free or reduced-price lunch. We are a Hispanic dominant population, with English as a second language. We are a dual-language campus with a mission: “Reading our way to success.”

Hurricane Harvey brought devastation to our community, and our entire city.

Our campus faces a lot of challenges this school year, and being able to bring my students lessons with authentic lab equipment and proper safety sanitation is key.

My Project

The Celestron InfiniView LCD Digital Microscope will be an excellent addition to my lab. Not only will my students be able to take it on the go, they will be able to see in detail right at the source. This addition will be a great resource for our outdoor observation in our school garden.

The Carolina Goggle Sanitizer Cabinet will make sure our scholars are always protected and germ free.

My scholars enjoy wearing their safety gear while completing field observations and classroom labs. Safety is our number one rule in the lab, and with the sanitizer cabinet, we will be on the right track.

Carolina Standard Grade Erlenmeyer Flasks, Microchemistry Pipets, and the Carolina Beaker Mug will make sure my scholars have what they need to conduct their labs with authentic lab material. This will allow for scholars to be prepared for the world of research and exploration. The love and passion for science starts now in my classroom, not years down the line.
