My Project

"Eye Opening Books" will prepare our students for the culturally diverse world that they will grow up in! My students love the library, they love to come to get the latest new book. Our school population participates in the 100% free lunch program due to the poverty level in our city. The students do not have the luxury of having a personal collection of books to read. The students are in great need of the books that the library provides. The students are hard workers and strive to accomplish their educational growth with what they have been given.

In order to compete in a global society, my students need daily interaction with culturally diverse information.

The teachers will be able to utilize these books during Social Emotioanl learning as a read aloud to enhance their classroom lessons.

Some of the books in the library are from the 1970s, which is completely outdated. Our students deserve better! I truly believe with the right materials and guidance my students will accomplish amazing things in our world!
