Help me give my students a pickleball set for PE, white board paper to support thinking classrooms, reading books, and small incentives to motivate students during testing.

My Project

Most students, including my own, love to have our PE Fridays to wrap up the learning-filled weeks. Many of my students have yet to try pickleball, and I feel that given the chance to receive the Amicoson pickleball paddles and set, they will find a new interest outside of their academic interests.

I want my students to participate in lots of group work and engage their problem-solving skills with one another in various subject areas.

With the use of the whiteboard paper/dry erase wallpaper, my students will be able to work on a different type of writing media and present their thinking on a vertical platform rather than a horizontal one. They do find more enjoyment in dry erase boards, instead of paper, and it's quicker to erase minor mistakes on a whiteboard.

My students will be taking the Smarter Balanced Assessment later this school year, and I want to provide some fun gifts that will encourage and motivate them to persevere through the week. My students are tactile learners and are able to self-soothe when given fidget items, like the squishy mini stress balls, Croc charm bracelets with the various Croc charms to attach, cute/animal shaped assorted paper clips, color changing highlighters, mash-up scented erasers, scented pencils with colorful eraser head, multi-colored earbud headphones, and motivational stickers for kids.

Lastly, "Where the Mountain Meets the Moon," has been a recent favorite with my small group of students and they have been promoting their interest in the book to their fellow classmates. Some students have looked to our library for more copies, but there aren't enough for most of the students to borrow and read.
