Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Each day my students walk through the door with smiles on their faces, happily anticipating the day's activities. They enjoy school and look forward to being with their friends and teachers. Although young, they have already developed a sense of the importance of school and of learning new things.

Our school is a high poverty, Title I school located in a big city.

Our school is growing, and exciting things are happening every day! We have been looking into ways to develop our students' technology skills. We have a new robotics team, as well as a school computer lab. I am seeking to attend this year's ISTE Conference to learn about the latest ways technology is being used in the classroom to promote learning.

My Project

By attending ISTE 2017, I will be able to learn about the newest ways technology can be used to enhance student learning. This will be my first time attending the ISTE conference, and I am so excited to attend the lectures, group panels, and workshops offered at the conference. Not only will I enhance my professional abilities with educational technology, I will get to see the newest devices, software, and learning methods available.

As part of our school's technology committee, I will be able to bring what I've learned at ISTE back to the school, to help develop our new technology initiatives.

While at the conference, I will be able to network with other teachers from all over the world, making connections that can help me with my everyday lessons back in the classroom. ISTE is one of the highest regarded conferences for educational technology in the world. This professional development opportunity would help me enhance my student's educations, and enhance our school's technology program.
