Extra Yards for Teacher's Band Project

Help me give my students an improved experience in class through the addition of some high quality percussion equipment, a great sounding portable speaker for listening/tuning, and needed supplies for woodwind instruments.

My Students

My school is a public school on a large military installation. A majority of my students are the children of servicemen and women. At my school, most students in 5th through 8th grade participate in a performing arts class.

The students I serve are diverse, energetic and creative!

My band classes have students of all ability levels and experience levels in music classes from zero experience to multiple years of ensemble experience. Since my school mainly serves the children of members of the armed services, students enroll in my classes throughout the entire school year.

My Project

The equipment we are aiming to buy with this project will help us in three different areas. It will provide instrument supplies such as reeds and trumpet mutes. It will also provide percussion instruments and an organizational cart. Finally, it will provide a speaker to allow for playback of professional recordings during class as well as tuning drones/pitches.

My school district does supply many instruments for my class, but I do not have a budget to purchase additional supplies and instruments.

Normally I end up buying these kinds of additional instruments and supplies for my class with my own money, but this project will allow me to serve more students more efficiently.
