Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are first time first graders! They look forward to the “bigger” adventures first grade has to offer.
Our school is an inner-city school in a major urban area.
My students are in a high-risk area.
With distance learning, it will be a challenge to help my students with the writing process in the usual way.
My Project
Writing is essential at every grade level, but first grade is a great foundation. First graders do a lot of writing and practicing writing is very important. Using their fingers on the iPads is one thing, but, being able to hold a pencil, pen, crayon, or in this instance, a whiteboard marker, will help them develop better writing habits.
By helping me provide my students these whiteboards and wipe off mats, we can all practice writing together!
I will be able to instruct them while they practice from their home.
