This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
"Reading maketh a man." My scholars take this to heart as they are are dedicated, motivated, and thirst for knowledge.
My scholars strive to be empowered through knowledge and the first stop on this journey is the school library.
Our school community is located in the Lower East Side of New York City and approximately 60% of our students currently live in homeless shelters or transitional housing. The library seeks to play an integral role in building our future leaders.
My Project
A visual display plays an important role in marketing resources. It catches a customer's eyes and makes them want to approach and check out the display. A revolving magazine rack is an essential visual display that promotes a library's resources.
This revolving magazine rack will enable my scholars to easily identify and access magazines that allow them to further their thirst for knowledge.
The magazines that this rack will house will continue to enhance our print-rich library that the scholars have striven to create. This is so as their suggestions, interests, and curriculum have guided, and continue to guide, the process of collection development for the library.
My scholars love reading and learning and will be able to easily choose magazines which will help them continue to enjoy independent reading time.
