My students need the Epson EcoTank Wireless Printer so they can print work off of their tablets and receive hard copies of quality worksheets, handouts, homework, and reminders.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The students in my classroom live in a low-income neighborhood and are several academic years behind. My school is located on the southwest side of Chicago. The community in which my students live can be violent and dangerous at times. My students are special because even though they face many challenges, they still come to school eager to learn and with a positive attitude. They are my inspiration.
My students are all one or more academic years behind of where they should be in reading and math in fourth grade.
I have three students with IEPs for various learning disabilities. 100% of my students are native Spanish speakers and many of them still experience some difficulty using the English language.
My Project
Having a printer in my classroom will allow me to provide my students with more resources than ever before. During the past school year, the most common issue students faced on a daily basis was misplacing worksheets. Since I can't leave my class to run down the hall to copy another student's worksheet, in these situations students would have to recreate the worksheet on loose leaf paper, which wastes time and is frustrating for the student. Having this printer will make it easy to provide a new worksheet for a student when necessary.
The majority of my students are English language learners who benefit from having tangible activities to read and write on.
I will be able to provide my students with many more hard copies of activities by having the Epson EcoTank wireless printer in my classroom. This printer will allow me to provide many more supplemental resources that will help my ELL's and those who are below grade level. The copier available for staff has a low copy limit per month and does not have the option to print in color, meaning copies are used sparingly and only when absolutely necessary, and copies often look dull.
Technology is often unreliable. When student tablets are malfunctioning or internet access is unavailable, I want to be sure I can still provide my students with resources if technology becomes unavailable and my copy limit has been reached.
