Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Every morning my scholars and I start our day by greeting each other in one of the six languages that they have learned. They can say good morning and good afternoon in Creole, French, Spanish, Russia, Muslim, and of course, English.
Our school days start with everyone greeting each other as scholars, as we all believe that every student is a scholar from the moment they walk into the school.
My class of only nine students has embraced the norm that is felt throughout the building. My scholars are hard at work every day establishing a positive learning community within the classroom where diverse learning is accepted and respected.
My Project
My scholars will use these needed materials on a daily basis to develop their growing minds:
-dry erase markers to assist them with independent writing or when mathematicians are simply hard at work solving computation problems on their dry erase boards
-pencils to assist them with writing down their creative ideas
-composition notebooks to keep all content subject area information ready at hand
The school timer will be used when class activities such as Time, Pair, Share are incorporated within a lesson. This activity allows them to share information within a set time. Finally, the stapler is to display their work on the classroom bulletin board. Every supply requested will be put to the most useful way that will benefit and develop the learning of the diverse learners in the classroom.
Any and all donations to my classroom will be greatly appreciated, as these supplies will continue to foster and develop the growing minds of our future leaders.
A teacher can teach all day long. However, learning comes to life when scholars are physically involved in their learning. These supplies will provide the tools they need to keep young minds ALIVE!
