Books are a vital part of every classroom and providing the children with a variety of books from many different authors they will all have an opportunity to find books that they love. My goal is to help students develop a love of reading at a young age that they will be able to carry with them throughout the rest of their lives.
Our bookshelves are falling apart and we really need a new way to display and share the novels that we read throughout the school year.
Instead of the traditional bookshelves, my students and I thought that it would be fun to have a display bookshelf that is on wheels! A magnetic white board with magnetic book shelves serves as a perfect device to spotlight and share books with others.
With teacher guidance and support, the students will learn all about the authors of their favorite books. We will do basic research and learn about the authors, their characters, writing and illustrations to share with others. The rolling bookshelf will provide us the opportunity to move the display around to different parts of the classroom and school when we want to share the great books we’ve been reading with others.
