My Project
My second graders had a rough start to elementary school due to the shutdowns. I am looking for inventive ways to catch them up! My students are a group of kind, hardworking children.
My students who once resisted picking up a book are now excited to read.
I am requesting the Scholastic News Magazines for my new readers so they can continue their reading journey. Each month, my students will receive two original magazines covering relevant topics to their lives. After reading the magazines in class, each student will be able to bring home their magazine so they will be able to follow up with reading at home. The magazines are colorful and filled with information, increasing their nonfiction reading proficiency. These magazines will motivate my students to read, read, and read some more! There is a strong, positive correlation between motivation to read and reading achievement, and anything that motivates my kids to read is a necessity. These magazines will appeal to all my students!
