My Students
Do you remember wanting to know about 'grown-up things' in the news while you were young? My third grade students from Keansburg, New Jersey are curious and inquisitive. They come to school eager to learn new things about their world. Keansburg is small community with around 10,000 residents. Many of them face some financial challenges.
My Project
Scholastic News Magazine is offered in both print and digital versions. Students will also have access to print copies-just like an actual newspaper. Additionally, students can access provided material online. This would be ideal for my at-home students.
Using Scholastic News Magazine will provide my students the opportunity to learn about national and world events.
They will learn about other kids, unique animals, interesting places and historical events-in vocabulary that is at their developmental level. Using Scholastic News Magazine will bring my students the opportunity to engage in discussion and engage in meaningful conversations with their peers.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
