This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are passionate, inquisitive and kind! They love coming to school to learn and are developing their love for reading. I have students that range in levels, learning styles, and interests.
When children see articles they are interested in, they become highly engaged.
My Project
This school year is going to be different for many of us. Some students will learning in school and some students will be remote learning at home. Not only do Scholastic News articles provide a hard copy for the students to have, it also allows them to have digital access at home. The digital library includes hundreds of texts, videos, and differentiated instruction. The digital library also can be shared with parents and family members at home.
There are many benefits to using Scholastic News articles.
Each issue is a current event, allowing my students to have knowledge on various social studies topics, as well as science. In addition, it builds on my students language skill by exposing them to new, specific content related words.
Students look forward to receiving new news articles every month because they are highly engaging. These articles will motivate my scholars to read and love non-fiction texts.
