My Students
My students are an adorable diverse group of 5 and 6-year-olds. They are so enthusiastic and motivated to learn. It is so inspiring to watch them work together to help each other grow! My students come in September with many unique abilities and a variety of starting points, but all are eager to learn. Each student has their own learning style so I strive to meet each of their needs. One of the most rewarding aspects of teaching kindergarteners is the amazing growth that happens from September to June.
My Project
The materials I am asking for will help inspire my students love of learning. Due to Covid-19 I am unable to use my classroom library. This favorite activity that helps inspire students to read can still be possible with a magazine for each student to keep. Reading text over the computer can not replace the feeling of holding it in your hands, especially for our littlest learners.
Each week a new magazine will be given to my kindergartners creating excitement to read!
This magazine will give them access to non-fiction articles that will activate their curious minds and help them develop strong fundamental reading skills. Since we will be hybrid, it is great that they will have access to a paper copy plus the digital. The digital access will allow them to view fascinating videos, play interactive games, and dig deeper into the learning with their families.
