Help me give my students a subscription to Scholastic News magazine, to help us build our reading skills.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Wilson's classroom raised $224
This project is fully funded
My Students
My students have diverse backgrounds and come from all over the world. Many students go home to speak a language other than English. Several are first generation Americans within their families.
Despite the many challenges they face such as poverty and a language barrier, they love to learn and to try new things.
My students have great attitudes about school and try their best. Please help support our classroom, so we many continue to grow and learn and become the best fourth graders possible!
My Project
Our class is in need of a subscription to the Scholastic News Magazine. Scholastic News is an academic, student-friendly magazine published weekly.
This magazine uses current events to build reading skills.
For example, an article may be about a volcano, while building the skill of finding main idea and details. A science article could lend itself to teaching not only abut otters, but also about cause and effect.
Students are engaged while reading the magazine, and learning about things happening around the world. All the while improving on their language arts skills that go above and beyond reading the articles.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
