Flying in a spaceship, standing on a battlefield during the American Revolution...these are things that my kids can experience through reading.
My students love to read!
These kids are from low to middle class homes. Some of them do not have books at home to read.
Our school is located in a middle class neighborhood. Our free and reduced lunch population is about 65%.

My Project
My students will use these books to enhance what they are learning in science and social studies. These books will be used alongside our fourth grade curriculum. These books, including The American Revolution, Gooney Bird Greene, and 2-3 Bargain Astronomy, will also be used for choice reading time and reading at home. There are several units that will be created with these books that will help the students relate better to our subject matter in 4th grade!
Your donations will be very appreciated in order to enhance our classroom library.
We are limited in our book selection and need more genres to choose from. This will greatly improve our library!
I believe that this will change the students and their perceptions of some of these subject matters. Hopefully, by reading these books, they will become better acquainted with the curriculum and feel more comfortable with it! I feel that this will help them become better readers!
