Help me give my students TIME for Kids weekly reader magazine to enjoy and take home.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My first-grade students are excited about learning!
Most come from low-income families where reading and other educational materials are luxury items.
Additionally, our class contains children from diverse backgrounds and circumstances. Many come from homes where English is not spoken or not spoken fluently, some are in the foster care system, and some have physical and/or speech challenges to overcome. Fortunately, at this age, all students benefit greatly from experiences and touchable, movable manipulatives, so I try to provide these opportunities as much as possible. When you donate to our classroom, you are changing lives! Thank you!
My Project
My first graders are excited about reading! This next year I would love for them to be able to read both Scholastic News (see my other DonorsChoose.org project) and TIME for Kids.
The TIME for Kids weekly reader will give my students access to articles highlighting global cultures, historic events, and math and science interests.
Topics such as these will contrast nicely with the plant, animal, community, and self-care subjects on which the other magazine tends to focus.
Please consider helping fund this project (or my other weekly reader project). Many of my students do not have access to reading materials outside of the classroom. Reading these magazines together at school and then sending them home fosters a love for reading in my students, while at the same time helping them build a library of age-appropriate, quality reading materials they can keep and enjoy when they are not at school.
On a side note—Thank you for supporting our public schools. I know I cannot speak for everyone, but as for myself and the teachers I work with, we really do appreciate your generosity. Our students have a much richer experience because of people like you.
