My Students
After a very challenging year plus of remote learening, teachers and students are finally reunited back in the classoom... and we couldn't be happier!! We are now more than ever faced with the unsettling fact of reality, that our students are far below grade standards.
Our mission to be able to provide them with as much support as we can mentally, emotionally and physically.
This year my co-teacher and I are teaching Math to 2 ICT (Intergrated CoTeaching) classes as well as Social Studies and Executive Functioning skills to our homeroom. ICT classrooms are made up of a certain percentage of students with special needs as well as general ed. students. Some of these special needs are minor such as speech or occupational therapy and range all the way to autism.
We love working together in this enviornment because it truly allows us the opportunity for tremendous growth within our students both academically and emotionally. There is no one size fits all model for our students if we want them to be successful. Our mantra is always progress, not perfection!
My Project
Paper and ink are the foundation for various basic needs in our daily life. This concpet is no different within the walls of a classroom. Please help us provide our students with the Executive Functioning skills they need in order to be successful multi-task learners. Vibrant colors of paper and a years supply of ink will greatly enable us to print graphic organizers, checklists, task cards and plenty of other resources to help our students stay focused and organized throughout their learning journey.
Executive function is the brain’s ability to plan, focus attention, remember instructions, juggle multiple tasks successfully, organize information, and develop self-control.
Executive function skills can be developed and strengthened with ongoing support from both home and school. Executive Function skills allow for students to be successful in school and in life.
