My Students

The art room is the center of creativity in our diverse school. Students are growing and learning in the same small, tight-knit school community that inspired me to be a teacher.

They are dreamers and mini-inspirations to themselves and others around them, even if they don't know it yet.

They are budding artists, writers, world travelers, scientists, entrepreneurs, and teachers. They are kind and accepting. They are our future, and I want to motivate them to be the best they can be!

My Project

My goal for next year is to increase literacy in my classroom. Our school strives to increase literacy skills in all classes, including art. Scholastic Magazines show students timeless works of art, teaches the elements and principles of art, and integrates literacy into every magazine! Every issue features classic and contemporary artists, lesson ideas, and stunning reproductions of their work. Vocabulary features will help students meet language arts standards. With studio projects, video museum tours, and eight gorgeous posters of iconic masterpieces, Scholastic Art isn’t just a magazine. It’s a complete Print & Online art program.

Scholastic Magazines will be used for lesson planning, sketchbook prompts, and reading material for those who need an extension activity.

We could really use these magazines to explore new ideas and apply rigor and relevance in the art room!
