This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The beautiful part about working in an ICT setting is having a diverse group of kids with specialized skills. None of my kids are the same, but they bring a uniqueness to the classroom. From math wizards to future journalist, each student has something to bring to the table. They all want to help themselves be the best they can be. They will have a bright future as long as they remain to keep in mind how unique they are!
My Project
My classroom lacks some basic materials. One goal of mine is to help the student improve in there phonics. I want them to build words and write them in a fun and enjoyable way! The children love magnets and are eager to work with the dry erase boards. But I’m lacking in those materials. It’s important to me to make sure they view building and making words as important but also engaging. I also think it’s important to see what the students know. Since our setting arrangements consist of a table, many of the students look at each other’s work. We try to use folders, but it hasn’t been useful. Book baggies are very important, we change books every week but we don’t have the proper material to help keep them in a safe space!
