Help me give my students a subscription to Scholastic News Magazine to use daily during our social studies class.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Oliver's classroom raised $283

My Students
My students are creative, energetic, and eager to achieve. I teach students in grades 3, 4, and 5, in a public school in inner-city Baltimore. Some of my students have been diagnosed with a disability, however, disabilities are what they have, not who they are. 90 percent or more receive free and reduced-price lunches, however, their socioeconomic status doesn't determine how far they will go. They strive every day to read more and learn more about all subject areas. Their only limits are what they have yet to be exposed to. Our class will greatly benefit from these supplies to help access the curriculum and close the achievement gap.
My Project
It is important that after this last year of virtual learning, my students are given an opportunity to return as global learners. This project is filled with an opportunity that students have everyday school materials needed to be informed of national and world issues for their social living block.
In this project, students will be given their own scholastic magazine and a digital copy so that we can explore current news topics and science innovations.
Your contribution will help spark knowledge and discussion about national and world current events. We will use the magazine as a daily staple in our social studies, health, and science learning block.
Please consider making a donation to this project so that we can return our classroom to a more normal and robust learning environment that exposes my students to what's going on in the world around them; making them global learners.
