My students need 61 artistic supplies such as card stock, paint, markers, stencils, stamps, and foam stickers.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. P.'s classroom raised $1,140
This project is fully funded
Have you ever left somewhere with a desire to know more? That is my goal for my students everyday. Our school is rural, and has an enrollment of about 250 students in the high school. I teach three different classes, Biology I, Biology II, and Environmental Science. I have students in grades 9-12 intermixed in my classes. I have about 110 different students in an average year. Of those students, about 15 go on to our Dual Credit College Biology class and do very well. We are a low-income school district in Missouri, having 63% of our students on free and reduced lunch.
I feel it is important to make the education these students get the best possible, so I do a lot of hands-on projects and real life applications in my classroom. My Autistic students really benefit from the hands-on activities, especially the art/craft projects.
I feel that having a big supply of different art/craft materials for them to choose from will help. Some of these supplies include card stock, paint, markers, stencils, stamps, and foam stickers. Not only does this give my students with autism the opportunity to learn in different ways, but also to sort out and problem solve ideas of different materials to use.
I feel my autistic students' education is just as important as any other students, and I need special materials to help them grasp the concepts. Making models, acting out scenarios, and making posters really seem to help them. Please help me make a difference in these students' education. They deserve it.
This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
